DAvid höltgen

Director Communications

David Höltgen, Director Communications, joined the Wilo-Foundation in 2021 and is responsible for external and internal communication. In addition, he supports the Executive Board of the foundation in shaping and managing its global social engagement.

In this role, he supervises projects, including in Africa, and the foundation’s events for scholarship holders in Germany who are supported by the Wilo-Foundation. He also represents the foundation as a panelist at conventions and conferences and works as a facilitator on behalf of the foundation.

After studying Communication Science at Erfurt University (bachelor’s degree) and Sport, Media and Communication Research at German Sport University Cologne (master’s degree) he started his career in the international start-up scene at foodora GmbH where he worked for two years as Head of Marketing and Sales.

In 2017, he joined the foundation sector when he became Engagement Developer at Neven Subotic Foundation (now: well:fair Foundation, Dortmund). In his role, he made several trips to East Africa in the context of water projects and also as the executive producer of the short documentary Obuntu

His communication expertise and his international work experience in the area of WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene) are also important assets for the Wilo-Foundation since the foundation’s international funding activities focus on projects in the field of water and climate action.
