Romania: George Enescu International Competition

Wilo-Foundation supported the Piano Final.

On 23 May 2021, the “Piano Final” of this year’s George Enescu International Competition took place again. These were the young musicians who made it to the „Piano Final”: Adela Liculescu (Romania), Marcin Wieczorek (Poland) and Yeon-Min Park (South Korea). The latter was the big winner of this year’s George Enescu International Competition in the Piano Section and will thus have the honour of performing at the next George Enescu Festival.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional reception hosted by the Wilo Foundation’s for the three finalists, the jury and other guests after the concert could not take place this year. However, several Wilo employees from Romania, including Mariana Corlaci, Marketing Manager of Wilo Romania, witnessed the Piano Final live in Bucharest.

The George Enescu International Competition, with more than 50 years of tradition, is the only classical music competition (violin, cello, piano and composition) that is organised by Romania to win the attention of the international music scene.
