Since 2012, TU Berlin has been offering four master’s degree courses with an average of 450 students at EUREF Campus in Berlin Schöneberg in the following subjects: Energy Management, European and International Energy Law, Building Sustainability and Sustainable Mobility Management. The TU Campus EUREF is a recognised affiliated institute of TU Berlin.

Now, 13 years of experience are being transferred from Berlin to Düsseldorf, with an expanded range of subjects, as the second real lab focusing on the topics of energy, climate protection and mobility is being set up there. Its area of work includes, for instance, the system integration of renewable energy sources, smart transport and distribution networks and efficient energy applications, particularly in the heating and mobility sectors, and in energy market design. Another key focus will be the hydrogen economy. This makes EUREF Campus Düsseldorf the first sustainability and innovation campus in North Rhine-Westphalia.

EUREF courses offer a new academic approach that reflects the increasing demand for more efficient energy use and is cross-disciplinary and very practice-oriented. Various cooperation partners from the business sector are supporting this approach in order to create ideal learning conditions for young talents on the EUREF campus and promote the international expansion of the science locations Berlin and Düsseldorf.

Together with four other universities, Düsseldorf will offer international master's programmes on the topics of smart energy and sustainable mobility – two subjects that are of key importance for the future. The EUREF Talent Campus is supported by its academic partner, the University Alliance Ruhr (consisting of TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum, University of Duisburg-Essen), and the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.

The Wilo-Foundation has been one of the partners of the EUREF Talent Campus from the very beginning by providing financial support for the development of the innovative science programme in the form of the international Master's degree programmes on the topic of Sustainable Energy. From the 2025-26 academic year, it plans to donate best-of-class awards for students.
