Water Engineering master’s thesis scholarship

Since 2018, the Wilo-Foundation has been supporting the postgraduate master’s programme “Water Engineering” at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna in Egypt, a satellite campus of Technische Universität Berlin.

For a three-year period, the Wilo-Foundation supported the Water Engineering master’s programme at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna in Egypt, a satellite campus of Technische Universität Berlin, on an annual basis. The programme is especially targeted at international students who have already gathered some work experience. The Campus El Gouna was closed in 2022.

On the campus in El Gouna in Egypt, students of the Water Engineering programme learned how to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for tackling the various challenges in the water sector, especially in arid and semi-arid climate zones.

The Wilo-Foundation supported the “water scholarship holders” while they were writing their master’s theses, which all provided input and generated know-how on the issue of water management in Egypt. With its financial assistance, the Wilo-Foundation supported students of the Water Engineering master’s programme in writing their master's thesis at the TU Berlin, enabling them to engage in exchange with others, both in the academic field and on intercultural aspects, while also getting to know the German capital.

Our funding partner

The "Campus El Gouna", located in a lagoon landscape on the Egyptian Red Sea coast, started out as a transnational education transfer project in 2012. This made Technische Universität Berlin the first German university to operate a campus in Egypt, in strict legal compliance with German quality criteria and higher education legislation. The Campus El Gouna was closed in 2022.
