Residency of the London Symphony Orchestra

The “orchestra in residence” format of the world-famous London Symphony Orchestra gave the audience of the Konzerthaus Dortmund an opportunity to experience star conductors and world-class music performances, and even get to know the orchestra off stage during the LSO Discovery Days.

Funding period: 2019-2024

At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, the Wilo-Foundation became the main sponsor of the residency of the world-famous London Symphony Orchestra (LSO). Up until the 2023/24 season, the world-class orchestra worked closely with the Konzerthaus Dortmund and, under the leadership of internationally acclaimed conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, François-Xavier Roth, Gianandrea Noseda or Antonio Pappano, presented exceptional music productions.

Moreover, the LSO residency not only provided unforgettable concert experiences but also brought its award-winning LSO Discovery Programme to Dortmund. Since 1946, the LSO has been engaged in efforts to reach a broad audience through classical music and has been expanding its activities continuously. The accompanying Community Music programme also focused on inspiring people from all social backgrounds through musical experiences.
