"ARTEscénicas + digitalidad" is an education, mentoring, research and production programme in the field of performing arts and new media. The programme is designed to promote the creative and experimental work of designers, artists, technicians and coders and aims to encourage collaboration through joint initiatives. The idea is to connect young talents and experts from Europe and South America. The programme is led by the Goethe-Institutes in Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Brazil and Colombia and implemented in close collaboration with Espacio Checoeslovaquia and NAVE in Chile, the Instituto Nacional de Artes Escénicas in Uruguay and the Academy for Theatre and Digitality in Dortmund. It is supported by the Wilo-Foundation.

The Goethe-Institute in Chile also cooperates with the German Academy of Theatre and Digitality, a section of the Theater Dortmund which has been supported by the Wilo-Foundation since its creation in 2018 through interdisciplinary research fellowships funded by the Wilo-Foundation.

The programme consists of three phases that are being implemented in the period 2022 to 2024. The first phase is a phase of support and research where scholarship holders receive expert advice from their mentors. The second phase focuses on the initiation of processes in Germany and the development of projects. During the third phase, the finished productions are presented on international platforms (festivals, theatre stages, trade fairs etc.). The aim of the programme is to promote contemporary stage productions of interdisciplinary groups that use technologies and new media in performing arts. The groups consist of three people (one each from the creative, production and the technical field) who develop a performance project as a live, digital or hybrid format. The most important areas of technical research are lighting, sound, audivisual media and virtual reality.
