The central aim of the education programme is to give socially disadvantaged young girls access to quality general education at state schools and ensure that these girls attend school for a period of ten years, whenever possible.

The Nanhi Kali programme has been funded and carried out in cooperation with the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust and the Naandi Foundation since 2005. The central aim of the programme is to give young girls access to quality general education (including on health, hygiene and environmental issues) at state schools for a ten-year period.

Over a period of five years, thanks to the funding provided by the Wilo-Foundation, 500 girls at eight public schools in the surroundings of Chakan (approx. 25 km from Pune, a Wilo site) were given the opportunity to attend school, with the education initiative “Nanhi Kali” providing the girls with school uniforms, learning materials and intensive support and guidance in their everyday school routine. Several Wilo employees also supported the project as volunteers.
